Grammar

We currently have two Grammar-level class divisions: Lower Grammar and Upper Grammar. The Lower Grammar class will comprise students aged 7–9 (typically 2nd–4th grades). The Upper Grammar class will comprise students aged 9–11 (typically 4th–6th grades). The class makeup is determined each year based upon enrollment.

At the Grammar level, students will be expected to participate fully in class, while assignments suggested for outside of class will be left to the discretion of the parents (although consistent work at home in the areas of language arts and Latin are expected). The Upper Grammar class will begin to study grammar formally and music classes will incorporate group violin lessons.

On Thursdays, students will rotate between classes on language arts, science, fine arts (music or art), and Latin. Monday afternoon classes will comprise history, memory work review, and fine arts (theater or music).
